Rise
Most vintage Levi's are a MID RISE (waist band sits just below bellybutton height).
The rise measurement tends to be 10' on small sizes 11' on medium sizes, and 12-13' on large sizes - please measure yourself to see if this works for you!

Waist
This is where your jean's waistband will sit.
Measure this at bellybutton height, with tape measure above your hip bones.
This is NOT at the thinnest part oof your waist!

Inseam
This is the physical measurement of the inside leg- NOT the same as your modern jeans inseam.
Short is 27/28
Regular is 29/30
Long is 32/33
